"Arty, this isn't just about the whole Jack thing, is it?" he said, glad to be so close to her. "This is about me never being here for you," he said. It was true, she wasalways emotional and Bob had always connected it to the fact that he was never home. Why hadn't he talked to her about this before she broke down. He rested his chin on the top of her head. "I really do love you," he murmured.
She had ignored his question before. "Will you come back to my rooms later?" he asked again. Last time there was a ball they had gone back to his rooms, and poor Artemis was in this uncomfortable dress and had endedup borrowing one of his shirts. He missed the days when he was only a squire and was home totalk to her.

[green]Artemis shrugged, "... I guess its a whole lot of things." She looked down, she'd never admint it, but his not being there was hard for her. Sometimes she'd considered just having a fling with another guy when he wasn't there so that she oculd feel wanted. She always rejected the idea of course, she was faithful to Bob, sure she flirted, but that was as far as she took it now.
When he told her that he loved her, she knew that the tears were coming back. He'd said it before, but it had been a long time since she'd heard him say it. She didn't care that they were dancing, she hugged him, really blinking back the tears, "Love you too."
She chuckled slightly, though it was a bit watery sounding, "I said of course I will Silly." She kept her face buried, she wasn't in the best of moods at the moment and she knew it. For her, love was done through touch, whether it was holding hands, hugging, or things less or more intimate. And she hadn't had that feeling for a long time, but maybe she'd feel it again tonight.[/green]

"Arty, I think we should go," he murmured. "It's getting late," he added. If he wasn'tin public he would have picked her up in his arms right then and there, which was what he was going to do the minute they walked out of the doors.
((sucky post!!! did you want me to start a topic in bob's rooms))

Artemis nodded, "That's probably a good idea." She looked around the room was there anyone that she had to say goodbye to... Not really. It'd be nice to say goodbye to the people that she'd met earlier that night, but she knew that Bob wouldn't appreciate that. She stopped the pretence of dancing and with Bob walked out of the ball.
((And we'll just continue in the other thread))

Damin made all his respectful apologizes and dismissals to those who he had met this evening. He bowed low those in higher rank than him, but keeping his status mysterious. He walked casually out of the slowly emptying ballroom, pulling his long coat tightly around him and avoided eye contact. He was at the door of the ballroom, making a quick pass with his eyes at all the guests left, then disappeared into the darkness of the early morning.

Marian-Rose watched the man go, holding her piece of fruit like it was a prized jewel. He was the only one who would've probably spoken to her all night, and she was unhappy to see him go.
Sure that no one else would speak to her, she made her way to the door as well. She usually never was asked to dance, and rarely ever spoken too, so she left shortly after Damin did.
Damin and Marian-Rose have left the ball!

Loki rolled his eyes as Jack, Edward and Rukan joined him, Annie and Alynta. However, he wasn't able to really say anything as it wouldn't reflect well on him if he did, and Ru was seeming extremely tired. He didn't quite pay any attention to what Edward, Rukan and Jack were saying to Alynta, he was too annoyed at the moment that Jack had joined them.
He watched Ru and Edward leave. At least Edward wouldn't be able to mope about Annie not paying any attention to him. He looked over at Jack, eyebrow raised. Well this could become a bit awkward. Neither of them were able to be truly civil to each other when it involved Alynta and especially when she was standing right there, though they both did try.

There was an awkward silence between Loki, Jack and Alynta, in which Alynta's eyes searched the room for something to start her conversation on. It was getting late, and Alynta's mind was barely being productive or original. She was half waiting either Jack or Loki to ask her to dance, but she doubted whether she could accept either offer, as that would only cause a fight. Although, it would have made the ball so much interesting.
"I wish I had been here to see the start of the ball." Alynta said wistfully as she glanced around the room at all the people having a good time. She caught sight of the buffet tables, "The food is nearly all gone. Have either of you tasted any?"
Alynta couldn't believe that she had sprung to talking about food, it was nearly as bad as talking about the weather.

Jack frowned, knowing that this would become argumentitive very soon, despite Alynta's efforts. But Jack knew one thing... this was not his day. he had been left in the dust already this evening, and he was pretty sure it was going to happen again, seeing as he was now in a fairly depressed mood.
Loki and Jack stared at each other until Alynta spoke, where Jack answered: "I haven't tried it, but I am sure it is probably lovely." He made a decision at that moment. He would be a gentleman. He could afford to lose Alynta to Loki for one night, for if he were to get her to dance with him, he would be too depressed to make her laugh, and have a good time.
"I think I am off to bed. Enjoy the ball, My Lady," He bowed low - which looked a little awkward, regarding his size. "Loki," he nodded in the his general direction, and then took his leave without another word. He would spend time with Alynta when he was in a better mood.

After her dance with Roxas Annie had socialised with the many important nobles and such. When all her friends left she excused herself tiredly to all the guests before going over and saying good night to her parents. Rukan and Eddy had left together... Annie wondered why that bothered her so much, but just thought it was because she was tired and not thinking straight.THE PRINCESS HAS LEFT THE BALL

Alynta watched as Jack made his excuses to both herself and Loki. She knew Jack's reason for leaving, as it was obvious that he had just let Loki win the fight for Alynta... for tonight. And Alynta felt rather disappointed. Was there to be no throwing punches in the center of a crowded room just for her entertainment. Then Alynta mentally slapped herself. It wasn't fair on Jack and Loki to wish this sort of thing upon them, they were both such nice people.
Alynta knew it was probably time to excuse herself. Already people were drifting from the ball and it was unlikely that she would dance with anyone tonight. And she didn't want to embarrass herself more by tripping over the hem of her dress again in the middle of the dance floor.
She brought her eyes up to meet Loki's. "Loki, thankyou for spending the evening with me. I feel honoured, and now I think I will excuse myself and disappear for the night."
She turned on her heel (careful not to trip over) and exited the ballroom gracefully.

Loki gapped slightly as Jack and then Alynta left in quick succession, not giving him anytime to say anything. He frowned, it nearly seemed planned, as if the two of them were going off to meet.
With that thought, Loki stormed out of the ball.
