((I made a little Icon of what he looks like... If you would like one, you can either bother me for one, and tell me what you would like in it, or go here: www.tektek.org/dream/dream.php And attempt to make one. Your first one usually takes forever to make... unfortunatly.))
Edward entered the ball, early, for his mother had dressed him and made him look "perfect" and told him that the early bird gets the worm.
Whatever that meant.
Unfortunatly for him, he was dressed in the garb of his Knight master, and he had to say, it wasn't to flattering.Even though, yes, he did enjoy the colors, the look of thing didn't suit him all that well. Oh well, he was just going to have to live with it.

Annie was so nervous. This ball was very important for her, and it was a chance to get her nameout there. Her ladies had spent hours getting her ready, and in the end she looked beautiful. Annie was used to having her name announced, but she still got a little nervous. The princess stood at the entance, waiting for him to anounce her name. "Princess Annie of Conte" he said, and suddenly everyone stopped. The mens jaws dropped, and she had to hold a blush. Down she walked to edward and his knight master. "So, what do you think?" she asked him, ignoring all the other men shooting glances towards her.

((Just because, I made one for you ((I was massivly bored)) ))
Edward heard Annie's name being called, and whipped around to see Annie nervously walking toward them. All the others in the rooms jaws dropped at her appearance, and Edward himself had to try and stop his own from dropping. He succeeded where other men failed, by pretending to be angry at the men around him for thier rude looks at the Princess.
"You look Gorgeous!" Edward said, "If only other women could be as beautiful as you! I could maybe find someone worthy to take my attention off you! Such a lady should not be spending their time with their best friend, she should be looking for suitors in such a gown!"
((If you were wondering, that's how I would babble if I was otherwise lost for words...))

Annie blushed as Edward called her gorgeous. "Hardly" she replied. The princess smiled before turning a deeper red. "Edward, you know that I'll be meeting Roxas here later," Annie said. "And I'm sure you could find someone much better looking than me" she said and nudged him. "Look at all the other beautiful ladies here. I'm sure they would love to dance with the princess's best friend" Annie added.
((It's so cute. Thanks!))

Edward rolled his eyes at her answer, knowing from years of experience not to fight over the matter. "Oh, I know, I was just trying to make light of this fascinatingly boring experience." At the last chunk he lowered his voice. That wasn't the real reason, however, that he had said that. He just wished she was going with him, not with Roxas.
Again Edward rolled his eyes. "Not very likely." He said. "Oh I'm sure they would LOVE to dance with me! And, you know, introduce me to their mothers, who go to my mother and start making fancy engagements. In other words, Mom starts telling me how lovely that girl is, and what a wonderful family she has and so on and so forth. That is what this is. A large mating competition." It was obvious to notice Edward wasn't to big on balls. People should dance for friendship. Not for courtship.
"And I would ask you to dance, however, I do not fancy angering Roxas. Staying good aquaintences with him would be a preferance to angering him."
((You are very welcome!))

Loki walked into the ballroom, not sneaking, but almost. It wasn't that he disliked balls, it was that he disliked mothers at balls. He knew that most of the other squires that were around his age felt the exact same way.
Loki was dressed in a teal dress tunic, with grey dress breeches and black boots. He was able to wear his own house colour, teal, as his knight master wasn't in the city that night and had told him to dress according to his own house.
He looked around, and quickly spotted Edward talking with Annie. He shook his head a bit sadly, Edward was so taken with Annie, yet she didn't seem to notice or care. Something that hurt Edward, though he wouldn't do anything to jeopardize his friendship, all this he'd told Loki and Jack.
He headed towards the pair, glad that he'd seen his best friend Edward, but dreading seeing his other best friend Jack, with whom he'd been in competition with for Ed's younger sister.

"There aremany girls at court better than me," she said. As Edward wenton about courtship Annie just wtched him. "Well, you'll probably get freedom of marrige becauseyour mother didn't marry someone with a high status. I'm a princess, I must make a marriage for the good of Tortall, it's my duty" she said to Edward. Roxas came to hermind, he did have a good family and all.
As Loki joined them she curtsied slightly. She was in public and she needed to act like a proper lady, and show respect to the royal pages and squires. "Loki, you haven't seen your brother, Roxas, by any chance. He was supposed tomeetme here," she asked him. Annie looked to the big chairs at the front where her parents were seated. Both of themlooked unpleased that Annie was with her friends instead of Roxas.

((Hmm... attempt to make Loki one...))
"Annie, how many girls, besides yourself, do I talk to on a normal basis without turning a slight red color?" The Annie mentioned the status of his father and had to remind her, not for the first time, "The second my mom married him, your father gave him a near higher status then my mom. You know that. And the King and Queen can't just keep giving status to people, thus mom would rather I find a lady. Me, I'd rather be getting into whatever it is the cooks are cooking. It smells good."
He noticed Loki, and was nearly about to give him their customary high-five, then realized where he was and stopped in mid air, pretending to waft away a fluffy. He watched, not without a small pang of jealousy, as Annie immediatly asked if Loki knew where his brother, which was a probable no, and shrugged in failure behind her back. Loki knew what he meant, he was one of the few people who knew who exactly Edward liked.
And, likewise, Edward noticed that Loki himself was a little stiff. Realizing the answer right away, Edward decided to be nice today, instead of making Loki worry.
"Relax, Loki. My sis' will probably joining us much later, or maybe even not at all. She peeved mom off." That should at least make it so that Jack and him don't fight today. He sometimes felt lucky that he was the only one in his group that liked Annie.
"Where is Jack anyway?"
((I think I will attempt to finish him now...))

((oooh Shinneh, can you make one for Roxy-babe? x3 Yes, I like nicknaming my characters. xD)
Roxas knew he was running late. He was supposed to meet the princess Annie. He just hoped that he wasn't going to get yelled at. He couldn't afford to hurt his family's name, especially when his father was one of the king's friends. He shook his head, which only his hair more messy. Roxas sighed and didn't bother fixing this time.
He arrived at the entryway and watched the people mingle and talk amongst themselves. Roxas chuckled to himself when he saw the princess conversing with Edward and his younger brother, Loki. He thought tit would be rude to suddenly barge in, but it had to be done. Roxas knew he made the princess wait long enough.
He came up to the trio and apologized to all of them first. "Hello Loki." Roxas said. "Glad to see you're doing well." he also directed that to Edward as well. "Your highness." he said, bowing.

Annie put a hand on Loki's shoulder "No girl, not even me, is worth breaking up a friendship," she whispered to him. "She is beautiful, but let her be the one to choose who she likes," Annie added. She knew he probably wouldn't listen to her. Theprincess had always felt it her duty to play peace maker, no matter what the situation. "And as for you Edward, I must find you a nice lady one day," she smiled.
Annie had spoke to soon. Suddenly Roxas walked in through the door. She felt like running up tohim and giving him a big hug, but remembered where she was. Ussually when he came to visit her she would embrace him and he would twirl her around fondly, but there would be none of that tonight. As Roxas bowed Annie fought to stop herself from telling him not too.
Roxas was a Queen's rider and diserved a medium amount of respect. Annie curtsied at exactly the right height, " Roxas of Naxen". Regaining her full height she looked up and fondly smiled at him. Roxas was a head taller than she, but it didn't bother her.
No one seemed to be watching them, not even Annie's parents. They were to busy talking with Roxas's father. She quickly hugged him before pretending it had never happened. Loki and Edward had been the only people to see the hug and she doubted they would tell. "Sorry Loki and Edward, sometimes I forget where I am" she whispered.

((Annie... Roxas isn't a 'knight', he's a Queen's Rider)) ((Also, I will be using 'Bob' as the name of the Olau knight that Artie is dating, until he gets an actual name))
Artemis walked into the ball, a smile on her face. This type of place was her element. Flirting. Since Bob was once again out of the city, it meant that she didn't have to reign in her flirting, so long as she didn't take things too far. Not that she normally did!!
Her parent's had made sure that her clothing was nothing but the best for this occasion and being friends with Lady Knight Alanna and family helped quite a lot. Not that her family was poor, especially since they basically ran (and basically owned) Alanna's previous fief - Trebond.
She spotted a few people that she knew, Roxas, who was a fellow Rider, the princess Annie and Edward, the son of the afore mentioned Lady Knight. Though she didn't know the other person standing near Roxas, Edward and Annie. She had to wonder why Roxas and Annie were hugging though, not that it was any of her business.
So without further adeu she walked over to the group, her smile still in place. She gave a curtsy to Annie, wondering if she'd get called on it. As when they'd met Annie had told her not to.
"Good evening." This was said to the entire group

((Yeah... I'm too lazy to make him one....))
Loki returned Annie's curtsy with a bow of his own. And then shook his head, with a slight roll of his eyes. "No, I haven't. We do live in different places. Though don't worry, he'll get here eventually."
He smirked at the almost high-five. Though he couldn't help his feelings of sorriness for Ed, as Ed shrugged knowing what Loki's answer was for Annie's question before it was said, though he kept his face blank of that emotion, as he doubted that Ed would appreciate it.
He chuckled, realizing what Edward was trying to do. They knew each other too well, for any of these things to work all that well. "Well, if she doesn't come what are the odds that we'd be able to get our hands on some water to drink." The emphasHe smiled, it was a long running joke, that when one of them was upset about something they'd talk about finding some water, when really they were joking about stronger stuff, they didn't usually go and find anything. Annie, however, was not in on this, as the three boys, as Jack was in on this as well, knew that she wouldn't approve of the joke.
He shrugged, "No clue, probably girling himself up for the ball. ...No offence Annie."
He gave Annie an 'are-you-crazy' look, as she whispered some of her 'womanly' advice. Though he was able to refrain himself from saying anything to callous. "I'll keep that in mind." Over Annie's head, he looked at Edward, raising his eyebrows as Annie turned away from them.
Sure enough, Roxas had arrived and he wasn't all too late. "Hello Roxas. You as well." He winced as Roxy and Annie hugged. He moved subtely, so it just seemed like he was moving closer to his best friend so that they could talk. When closer, he put a hand on Edward's shoulder in comfort for a second before taking it off. He nodded at Annie, "It's alright."
He was about to whisper about finding more water than normal, when the small group was joined by yet another person. This time a young lady. He gave a small bow back, "Indeed. Though I don't believe that we've met. I'm Loki of Naxen."

Damin walked in to the edge of light that was pouring out of the entrence to the ball. He had the night, luckily and thought this would be a great approtunity to meet people, and keep an eye on his quary. He was smartly dressed, with some of his father's finer clothes he had found in a trunk hidden in his little home. He wore a deep red leather, strapped overcoat with the same red vest with yellow seaming. He wore dark brown breachers with polished rider boots. Damin had smoothed his hair back, away from his eyes so no one noticed his as the stable boy with messy hair, that everyone should look-down upon. Damin saw his reflection in a window and almost laughed, he looked almost as if he were some noble from the west. He walked up the stairs putting a friendly face, smiling at those who looked at him. No face he saw popped with a name, except hers. There was Annie, standing next to a handsome gentleman, a knight no doubt but it looked like his mother still dressed him, he snikered. He kept his distance at first, just to see what she would do and where she went. He didn't know why, but he felt this girl would make things better for himself, and exert revenge for his father. He stood, leaning gently on a pillar watching the crowd buzzing with excitment. He listened to the orcastra playing with in and was feeling excited about the ball, letting the music swell within him. This might turn out to be a very fruitful night, he thought to himself, smiling his warm smile that could fool even the dumbest fox.

((I shall make you one this afternoon after class, Roxy-my-dear!! (YAY!! Blond hair!)))
Edward rolled his eyes. He didn't want Annie to find him some girl, it would never amount. And it would hurt, for Annie would be picking what she thinks he likes, which will probably end up being the pure oppisite of herself. And he didn;t know if he could handle that.
When Roxas came in, Edward had to do everything in his power to keep himself from punching the guys face in. The only reason why he wasn't already tearing a strip out of him was because Annie was there. It didn't help matters when she flew un-lady-like into his arms. It took everything in his gut not to start something right there. He forced a pleasant look on his face, turning his attention to Loki beside him for a small moment, saying a quiet "It's alright, thanks."
When Artemis arrived, Edward was glad for the distraction, and gave a short bow to her, as he does to most ladies, and gave a small greeting similar to hers. He realized, unfortunatly after Loki had introduced himself, that he was being rather rude, as he knew her and not Loki, but Loki was quite pleasant around women and, thankfully, introduced himself promptly.
As the two spoke to each other, Edward noticed a particular person come in. Edward usually knew of everyone at court, but this person.
He recognized him, but couldn't place him. He looked very relaxed, and calm about his surroundings. His smile made him look sure of himself. He sat there puzzling for awhile, glad for a break of anger about Annie and Roxas.
