The minute Bob and Artemis had stepped out of the doors and away from the publics eye Bob had swooped Artemis off her feet and was cradeling her in his arms. He felt like a love-sick teenager again... It took him a while to get to his rooms, but when he got there he was glad to be back.
Bob kneeled down, placing Artemis on one of his knees as he pulled out his key. He then reached up and placed the key in the whole and opened the door. After putting the key back into his pocket he lifted Arty backup into his arms and walked into his rooms.
Bob carefully lowered her down onto his bed. "Will you need to borrow a shirt again?" he asked her. "Arty, it's been so long since I've touched you," he whispered to her. "And I want to let you know I love you," he said to her, pushing the upcoming war to the back of his mind.

Artemis let out a small squeak as Bob just suddenly picked her up. She let out a small laugh after the fright was over. She leaned her head so that it was against his shoulder as they walked. It was a fairly long walk and thankfully for them they hadn't ran into anyone on the way back to Bob's room.
Once they were in the room, she found herself being laid down on the bed, she felt a small blush touch her cheeks. For two different reasons. The second one being that she hadn't been carried, or looked out for in that manner for quite a while. She sat up and tried to kick of her heels, they were uncomfortable, pretty, but uncomfortable. Finally with a sigh she reached down and pulled them off.
She nodded, and whispered out, "Please." She wan't quite sure which one she was answering. While she'd love to borrow one of his shirt's, she also knew that it had been a long time since they'd been able to touch each other, hold hands, a kiss, a psck on the cheek, a hug, anything really, and she wanted that tactile touch. She shivered slightly at the thought. She smiled, "I love you too Bob."

Bob walked over to the trunk at the bttom of his bed and pulled out a tunic that was alittle large for him, that should cover up most of Artemis. He handed the tunic to her before sitting down next to her, and wrapping one of his arms around her shoulders. With the other hand he gentley caressed her cheek. "Arty, i know this is probably a bad time but..." he said with hesitation. "I'm going to be in my first war soon."

Artemis watched Bob as he got her his tunic. She'd missed him, she didn't really like the fact that she felt dependant on him, but she knew that for now she did. When she got the tunic, she hugged it to herself for a moment, but before she could even try to change, Bob was sitting beside her on the bed, with his arm wrapped around her shoulders.
Artie leaned into him, content to be with him. When he caressed her cheek she leaned into it, closing her eyes. She knew that when she opened them there would be evidence of her tears that she was holding back, but hopefully he wouldn't notice. She tensed slightly as he said that it would be a bad time for something. What was wrong? Had she done anything?
The brunette sat up straight, opened her eyes and turned to him. "WHAT?!?!" She started to shake her head 'no', tears started to stream from her eyes and she started to shake as she leaned into him again. They'd both known that this would eventually happen, she'd just been hoping that it wouldn't be so soon. "You can't go... You just got home." She whispered, feeling mroe scared now then she ever had. Though her excuse for not wanting him to leave was weak, she truly didn't want him to go to war and die.

Bob was just enjoying the moment. He and Arty were rarley like this, or atleast not since he had became a knight. Bob was holding back tears, what would Artemis do if he died in this war? Part of Bob was saying she would mourn for him and never love another but a nasty part of him was saying she would continue to flirt and court the next man she met. How he could think such a thing about his Artemis, he felt ashamed.
Bob was surprised when she got up. She was crying, which made Bob shake. After a few moments of silence a few small tears began to come down his ckeeks. Fear and pain showed in his eyes, so he put his head in his hands. "Arty, I'm one of the first troops to march down," he said, his voice muffled by his hands. "We need to think about our future, what will you do if..." he gulped. "Arty, what will you do if I don't come back."

Artemis sat down again, burying her face in the tunic of his that was in her hands, the night at the ball, had gone from good to ugly. She couldnt believe that Bob was going to be going to war. Sure, her group might get called on to do some scouting or some small skirmishes, but she wasn't going to be in the heart of battle.
She looked up at him, noticing the fear and pain. She tried to control her crying. The small Queen's Rider hugged her Knight. Thinking about thoughts of death was not helping her, so she tried to focus on the fact that if she was scouting, she may be able to see him at some point during the war, depending on where he was posted.
Her shaking got worse, when his head went into his hands and he told her that he was going to be among the first. "C-can't you ask to stay in Corus longer? You only just got here! It's not fair Bob!" She looked at him surprised, she'd been trying to get positive internally and he asked the question about death.
She shook her head, "I...I don't know... I don't know if I could live on being alone...without you...." She looked at him, the tears renewing the fast pace they had been at before. She couldn't imagine losing him.

"Arty, I have two weeks here and I'm lucky to have that long, because they wanted me to go down early," he said. Bob looked up. "We both knew this day would come and I want you to be strong," Bob said. "Arty, I will fight and stay alive as long as I can because I know that when I get home you will be here for me," he said. He was so much taller than her and seeing how fradgile she was made him tremble. "If something does happen I want you to find another man, I can't stand the thought of you being alone and unhappy," he said truthfully.

Artemis shook her head, wanting to say somthing spiteful against Bob's superiors, but she knew that she couldn't, Bob probably wouldn't appreciate it. She sighed, "I know. We're at war and all our personal lives are on the shelf." She nodded, wiping the tears off of her face, "I'll try."
Artemi buried her face in Bob's shoulder. "Of course, I'll be here waiting for you. Love you." She paused, "...Or I'll be waiting for you where ever I am."
She looked up at him, shocked, and shook her head, "What? You want me to find another guy?? Are you joking? I couldn't find someone else with you dead."

"Arty, remember I'll be fighting for you and for the next generation," he murmured. Geez, this war had a massive impact. Just holding Artemis close made him feel like if he held her for long enough it would all go away, but obviously this wasn't the case. "So, you'd be sad and upset all your life. I love you so much Arty, and thinking of you like that breaks my heart," he whispered.

The brunette nodded, "I know... It still doesn't mean I have to be happy that you're leaving to go fight an army!!" She knew that she couldn't really argue with what was going on, as he was doing it for her, but it didn't mean that she had to be happy about it.
She snuggled closer into him, enjoying his warmth. "I love you too. That's why I don't think I could go on without you." She blinked, feeling tears on her eyelashes. She touched his cheek gently, before resting it on his shoulder. "I'll miss you."

"I love you and I'll miss you too," he whispered. "Now I want to forget about the war and have some fun. Perhaps you should get changed into that tunic now," he said, and slowly let go of her, wiping away her tears.

She smiled slightly, she was beginning to calm down. Leaving behind her crying, for the moment at least. She shivered slightly as he pulled away, she had gotten quite comfortable in his warmth. She leaned into his hand slightly as he wiped away her tears.
She stood up, facing sort of away from Bob, she started to unbutton her dress. She was glad that the buttons were in the front. She unbottoned enough so that she could release her arms, and then put the tunic on. She then pulled her dress down and stepped out of it. She still had her corset on under the tunic.
She turned back to Bob with a smile. "Now. What are we going to do?" She raised an eyebrow.

Bob took a step, so he was right up against Artemis. "All I want is you Arty," he murmured and leant down a little, kissing her pasionatley. He began to caress her shoulder, waiting if she would return his desire...

Artemis blushed at his words, she'd suspected that this would happen since she saw Bob, but it still made her feel wanted to hear those words. She returned his kiss with equal fervor. She was rembling with passion...
*A While Later*
Artemis looked up at Bob, who was lying beside her. She pulled the sheets up to cover herself with. She was a bit self-concious now, feeling slightly insecure. She smiled, "Hey." She snuggled close to him, resting her head on his chest, "I love you." She was tired, but happy.

Bob recieved the passionate kiss with open arms. He really did love Arty, he just didn't show it all the time. Latley he had been treating her like an ornament, something to just show off. Arty was much more to him than that, and he hoped she knew it too. They lived in a place where showing affection in public wasn't really acceptable. Bob wondered if Artemis noticed the sparkle in his eyes every time he saw her.
--------
Bob wrapped his arms around Artemis. "Hey, my love," he whispered to her. "I love you too, forever and ever. No matter what," he murmued. It felt like as long as he held her he could stop anything bad from happening to her. Artemis was so small and fragile to him, and he just wanted to protect her from the world.
