Aiden stood in the center of a fenced off little area set aside for sparring. He gripped his sword in one hand, his feet shoulder width apart and his red-gold hair ruffling in the breeze. He was waiting for his younger brother, Loki, to come. They had set aside time in their schedules for a sparring session to test each other with. His blade gleamed in the morning sun and he swept his blue-green eyes over the sparring ring.

[teal]Loki walked into the training yard a bit wariliy, looking for his oldest brother. They were going to be sparring and Loki was fairly certain that he would lose. The main reason being that Aiden was far more experienced and older, as a knight should be.
He spotted Aiden in the sparring ring, sword in hand, obviously waiting. Loki felt a bit bad for making his brother wait, but he'd gotten sidetracked in an arguement with Jack that was about Alynta. The arguements were getting worse.
The brunette shook his head, he had to focus. He entered the ring, drawing his own sword. "Waiting long?"[/teal]

Aiden smiled at his youngest brother and lifted his sword into a middle guard position as he turned to face him.
"Not at all." He replied, his smile turning into a challenging grin.
"Ready?" He asked the squire, shifting onto the balls of his feet for balance and ease of movement.

[teal]Loki returned the smile and also brought his sword up, he easily went into the proper stance. They'd been doing a lot of sword drills lately as the impending war came closer.
He nodded, "That's good to know." His smile was gone now, just a look of concentration and a bit of arrogance that he put on seeing as it was his brother that he was sparring.
"But of course." Loki was now moving, he wasn't quite ready to attack yet. He hadn't fought his brother in years and couldn't quite remember his brother's fighting style.[/teal]

Aiden watched his brother for a moment before lunging forward with a calculated swing at the younger boy's legs. The red-haired young man was surprisingly agile on his gangly legs, moving with an odd sort of grace. Kind of crane-like perhaps. At least, that's what others had compared him to, though he was faster than the gangly water-bird they teased him with.

Loki was brought his sword down in an arc down to meet Aiden`s sword as he took a step back. He was able to block it, but just barely. He knew that in this fight that he was out-skilled, but he would have to do his best.
The younger boy then decided that he would try a move. He came in with his sword arcing for his brother`s left side and then reversed mid-swing to aiming for his brother's right side.

Aiden laughed as he blocked each strike easily and then lunged in for another attack of his own. That was his style, never spend too much time on the defense. Keep attacking, and keep moving. It forced your opponent to concentrate on defense rather than attack. One failed defense could mean death, but one successful attack meant winning.

((OOC: A friendly RPing note from an Admin who is just trying to make this thread easy on both of you.
So, RP figthing 101.
Rule 1: When one person sends a attack your way, you either block, move out of the way, or get hit, but there has to be something that has set your character of balance. The dodge setting you off-balance, the jarring of the swords hitting, You can't just treat it like nothing happened. If you hit a pole with another metal pole you'll feel it, no matter your strength. Trust me, I know. Swordfighting with Artie (who has strength on her side) hurts a lot! ((And Loki is bigger than Aiden))
At first, you were both doing this, and the last post Loki did, he attacked Aiden. Aiden didn't exactly answer with a block. he answered "Aiden laughed as he blocked each strike easily and then lunged in for another attack of his own." That's not a good answer, because now Loki has nothing to block in his next post. If Aiden had said something like "he aimed for Loki's lower leg," next, and then explained the fighting style like the rest of the post does, that would probably coax Loki into making a better answer.
Loki has no way he can properly answer your post, Aiden. It doesn't allow him to maybe nick you just barely or something. It is obvious your character is the best out of the two fighters, but it seems to me that Loki would get the upperhand at least once seeing as he knows some of the new techniques that could have been taught after your character had already become a Knight.
If you don't mind me being a little blunt, it would probably be best if you change your post to something Loki can work off of, please and thanks!
~Shinoa))
