Aiden stood under a tree near the water, staring at it for a bit. Then he shrugged and pulled his sweaty shirt over his head, after his recent work-out the cool water would feel good. he sat down to take off his boots, his shaggy red-gold hair falling in his face as he did so. For some reason the well-worn leather shoes were being troublesome that day, and he had to yank at 'em to get 'em off. He sat back for a moment, liking the cool grass against his feet and brushing his hair out of his face.

Annie had come out for a swim, having spent the morning on princess duties. Being cooped had driven her nuts! Annie had gotten sick of all of it and excused herself, saying she wasn't in the mood. As she got closer and closer she could see a man with red hair. Aiden was back, and Annie'sfrown suddenly turned into a grin. She set off at a run, well as fast as she could in the light dress she was wearing. "Aiden!" she exclaimed when she got close enough.

Aiden's mouth stretched into a grin of his own as he heard Annie's voice.
"Hey!" He called back, standing and turning to face her. He ran a hand through his hair and headed in her direction at a trot, meeting her part way.
"Been doing princess stuff?" He asked, raising a teasing eyebrow.

Annie smiled at him and punched him in the arm lightly. "Unfortunatley yes, but I am free now. Wanna swim?" she asked him before embracing him in a hug. His touch and warmth made her tremble, but she couldn't care less.BLAH really bad, sorry!!!

Aiden laughed and hugged her back. "Sure, was just about to anyway." He replied, turning back towards the pool but leaving an arm resting lightly around her shoulder. ((Not a problem, mine ain't always the best either. Such as this one. ))

Annie was slightly embarrassed. Should she jump in to the pool in her dress or take the dress off. Ussually annie would go with the safer option, but she felt restless today, but still knew she was a lady. Annie stayed in her dress. Without a word she gracefully dived into the pool. "You coming?" she yelled to Aiden.

Aiden laughed again and jumped in after her, raising a splash. His pants were still on of course, his weapons belt back with his shirt and boots. It's not like it held up his pants. It just held his sword and knife for him. He swam over to her with powerful strokes, aiming to splash her when he got there.

Annie was waiting for Aiden to swim out when she began to feel something tugging at her dress, pulling her down. Little did she know it was a magic. Annie struggled to keep her head up. "Aiden!" she screamed, before being pulled down. It was all in slow motion for her, as she could feel herself running out of air. Who was out to get her, and why?

Aiden didn't even think, he just dove after her. Grabbing her around the waist and swimming back towards the surface, aiming to tow her along with him. He didn't have any magic, so he didn't know what was pulling her down. All he knew was that he had to get her out of the water and back on dry ground.
((Grr...Awful post. Sorry..))

Annie gasped the minute she hit the surface. She had been certain that she would drown. Whatever it was, it was still pulling on her dress. "Aiden?" she murmured.

"Yeah?" Aiden replied, striking out towards shore with one arm while hanging onto her with the other. He kicked his powerful legs to add propulsion and hopefully get there faster. The muscles in his chest and arm strained against whatever was pulling on Annie.

"Aiden, what is it?" she said, while gasping for air. "Why is it pulling on me?" she panted. Annie knew they were nearly back on land, but being nearly there wasn't close enough...

"Assasination attempt?" He suggested as he finally reached the shore and dragged the two of them onto land. But he didn't stop there, he felt he had to get her as far away from the water as possible and carried Annie to the tree where his stuff was. There he collapsed against the trunk to catch his breath, Annie partially on his lap.

Annie's eyes were wide with fear as the young pair got closer and closer to the shore. "An assaination attempt?" she mumbled to herself a few times. The fact someone would try and assasinate her made her angry and scared. Annie, personally, didn't have any enemies. Sure, her parents might have enemies, but who would be so low as to target their daughter? Annie took a deep breath when they finally got to dry land.
The princess blushed when they arrived at the tree and she was half on Aiden's lap. She quickly moved, so that she was next to him, before lying down. There were many moments of silence, as Annie replayed what had just happened in her head. "You saved my life!" she finally said.

Aiden smiled gently at her.
"That's what knights do." He said. His breath still came heavy from the swim and he ran a hand through his soaking red hair.
"And plus, why wouldn't I save you?" He pointed out. He was courting her at the moment, even if he knew it wasn't meant to last in a forever kind of way, so it goes to reason that he would do his duty and protect her.
