It has been twenty years since Alanna defeated Duke Roger and saved Tortall and it’s King. But, what everyone doesn’t know is that Roger produced a son with one of his servants. His son is now twenty and he is even more dangerous than Roger. He has his father’s and mother’s Gift. But, Roger and his son are different; Roger wanted the throne, all his son wants is revenge on the royal family.
All of the old knights and such from Alana’s time reproduced and have sent there children to the palaces, because now both girls and boys can train as knight; thanks to King Jonathan. The best way that Roger’s son can see to hurt the royal family is to hurt sweet and innocent Annie. Little was he expecting that she would become a trained squire.
The only problem with his plan is that lots of dangerous people surround Annie. Her father, Alanna’s old friends, the new generation of knights and most of all, Alanna’s son. Alanna’s son made a promise to watch Annie and her brother, but little did he know what he was in for. And now he has developed personal feelings for Annie.
Will Roger’s son succeed, and will the new generation be able to protect the royal family???
